Runners take your mark… get set… TROT!!!  The Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot is a 5K fun run/walk on Thanksgiving morning for participants of all ages and activity levels.  The 2009 race will be our 4^th annual race and those who have joined us for the past three years agree that it is “the way to start Thanksgiving Day.”  So far we have more than doubled our participant numbers at every race!  The Turkey Trot is about strong bodies, strong families and a strong community, so gather your family, friends and neighbors and come walk, run, waddle or trot with other Mini-Cassia locals who are doing the same.

To gratify the competitive participants, prizes are awarded to the top 3 finishers in the Men, Women and Youth categories.  But since the Turkey Trot is about much, much more than just running fast and because most participants come out to have fun and make room for Thanksgiving dinner we strongly encourage all kinds of silliness!  Prizes are awarded for costumes, themes, large groups, etc.  Put on a Santa hat, tie some jingle bells to your shoes or come up with your own unique way to stand out!

Proceeds go to our partner West End Fire and Rescue and are used to benefit local programs and community growth.  Make this event part of your family’s Thanksgiving Day tradition by joining us at the 2009 Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot… rain, snow or shine!
